I have to agree with pvxbuilds.

First of, the issue which some people vaguely have mentioned but which have never really been clearified.

Everyone talks about the duping of armbraces which happened recently, but the reconnect feature isen't a recent update. Now I could be wrong about this, but how this looks to me is that "dumb" peoples found out about the dupe recently and started dumping thousands of armbraces to the market (hence the dumb) anet open they're eyes to it and so does the rest of the community. Is these the first items to be duped? I don't know, but if you think about it. Duping Ecto's is alot smarter, because it's like duping money it's a currency and it seems a lot less suspicous.

Now Anet might have server records, but I would question the filters that would detect these things. Especially if the peoples duping were smart about it (and not dupe a gazillion armbraces)

So anet's reaction is also very predictable (just backward engineer the train of thoughts on how to save the bottom line $$)

finally on topic, I don't know if I think it's right that all the guildies that accepted the duped items gets banned. I mean hypothetical I think most players guild wars would accept 250 armbraces if someone offered it to them I'm aware most peoples would deny it here but in the moment... So in effect they are only getting banned because they were put in that situation and I think it's the only thing that seperates them from the wast majority of the gw community.

So yah bottom line is GW should stop freakin messing up the updates.

/end annoyed rant

So, if I read well, the given bans aren't going to be lifted?

Well there is nothing I can truly to say to prove anyone's innocence on these boards and I intend to stop trying (didn't want to in the first place tbh). We are taking everything through the proper channel so this is just pointless anyway. It is all up to what anet chooses to do and we hope it works out fairly. (And sorry for all this spam, but gotta' stick up for your friends =p)
The duping went on longer than just today. I bet you are not on 24/7 for the last few weeks. And she could also not be due updates etc. would make her stand in a different build. STicking with friends is good, but nepotism is bad. If my friends would do something I feel is bad, like criminal acts, scamming, duping, whatever, I would stop affiliating with them at some point. If they were in my guild I would eventually kick em as you want your guild to have a good name, not a bad rep. Trust is something that you confide in easily when young, later you will find that trust must be earned, and not just by giving a cooky. Many people will screw you over, intentionally or intentionally, and I would never have believed that I would quote the following "You are either with us, or against us". People/friends just apathetically ignoring incidents/problems are just screwing you over, because they don't want to become involved, afraid to loose what they have, not caring about you. Should you TRUST those/such people? Take it from me, there are very few people you can trust.

As I said, my guild has a TS server, which is the same type of thing.

I know how Vent works. I know that it allows near instant chat with other people. That means that you could have easily requested that only one person post, before anyone could have posted.

Guild Leader dismissing claims > random posts by guild members

EDIT: I'd also like to point out that I was amused to find that two OhNo memers just joined these forums to post here (so it seems). That means you had even more time to tell them to stop so you could have only one person post.

You know... you can never really stop the Black Market (and it's many forms)... but yea... there will be a problem when the Insurgents get M8s and the GW hackers become untouchable...

I would. How else do you hope to create the impression that the majority, or at least a sizeable minority, is on your side? If sufficiently desperate, cheaters who get caught have been known to make several accounts on a single person to agree with each other.

1 armbrace, yeah, I'd probably accept it. 250? Hell no. Something's definitely up. I don't think that I'd suspect duping initially, since there have been many threads and conversations about how it was "impossible in GW". Though I would definitely think something was up. Trade window bug would be my first guess, but if the offer was free, I'd start thinking hack or something. I mean, anything is possible, so someone hacking Anet's servers could happen. Either way, I'd want no part of it, and probably come straight here to GURU and post about it (like someone did).

If it was a friend offering me 250 armbraces out of nowhere, well let's just say I don't have friends like that IRL that play, and I don't trust anyone in-game enough to consider them friends. Anyone else, no chance. And it has nothing to do with "morals" or anything, but rather the fear of the ban-hammer. Same reason I don't take money from the till at my job. Sure, I can look at thousands of dollars in cash sitting there, but I also know that surely I'd be caught if I took it. Morals don't even enter into my mind.

Seriously Guyz,

I vote Chunky Monkey Guild Wars Player of the month!

And before you go ZOMG , think about it:

1. He was so darn insolent to attempt a trade that is worth like 55.000 $ in real world money not caring about people getting suspicious (WOW, would you have that courage?)

2. He got a sweet little picture of this super power trade:
http://s180.photobucket.com/albums/x...rent=gw666.jpg
(unfortunately, he only got 3 out of 5 "roxxor" points not posting the picture himself. Btw Max Gladius what did he want to buy/ trade? your festival tickets? that would definitely give him another "roxxor" point!)

3. He was a Wammo! (left bottom corner of Maxs wonderful picture if you don't believe me)

4. He even comes to the forums and under the same name as ingame. The one he used to pull his little trick off. This is so godlike I don't even have words for it (even the Devil wears disguises).

5. He even explains to us, Joe Averages, how he did his magic trick: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ostcount=909)?
(oh well, he pulls the little friend trick, but hey that is just criminals jargon you see, they talk like that).

So tell me is that not reason enough?

P.s. Guyz, we can be very happy that those guyz didn't have a brain...

Let me clarify, my cousin has been staying at my place since Sunday. The bans happened on Monday. He's been on his account, via my connection, over my IP, on Sunday.
Get my point now? maybe not, but at least I clarified my point.

Also, I don't even get why people would actually spoil the fun in the game just for some in-game pretties. I'd rather stay out of game and become a millionaire (yea right, like that's gonna happen).

Anyways, seeing as I doubt this issue will be fixed in a proper way. And Gaile's information keeps having loopholes and errors, I'll bid the community a farewell in advance for when I stop posting here for several years (or atleast till GW2 comes out).

Hey guys.

I got banned permanently for the armbrace-exploit.

I did not clone or duplicate the armbraces.

This is my story:

I was in Ascalon, International district 1.

I saw someone selling armbraces for cheap, 50ecto each.

I bought 6 of them, because I thought I could make some money.

I 5 armbraces for 70 ecto each.

Then, I heard about the exploit, I wasnt really sure if it was true. But I sold my last armbrace for 55 ecto.

Then, I tried to log in:

You have been banned for an in-game exploit. This ban is Permanent. [Code=45].

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, my question is now, am I really banned for permanent?
Or: if this is true, can I get unbanned then?

I've sent a support message to Ncsoft.
